Wow, I’m an author of something…

Right, well, I’m surprised you clicked over here….maybe it was a mistake and you meant to check out the book reviews or something…

Well, you haven’t clicked away by now so you must be interested!

I’m Brandon Bushnell. I grew up for the most part in Salem, Virginia and, so far, I’m still stuck here. I grew up having a number of short-lived, obsessive interests including space propulsion, the social controversy surrounding biological evolution, apocalyptic literature, behavior modification camps in the united states, political theory and, most recently, Library Science (But I think I’m going to stick with this one!).

Since you’re reading my entries, I should say that I have horrible spelling skills and some issues with grammar now and again–I do my best to utilize the spell-check and re-read my posts but they have a way of slipping by me and I apologize to those whose innards churn upon viewing an occasion reversed “i” and “e”.

I work at the Salem Public Library here with about a dozen other staff, a circ desk, an unmaned reference desk and no other men in my department (that obviously weighted comment is not, I assure you, based in sexism but upon painful experience). Our web site isn’t currently much to look at but you never know–I may be able to do something about that in the near future. Have a look:

I’ve just been elected to the board of directors of the Roanoke Valley Library Association (RVLA)…it isn’t as interesting as it may sound–It was kind-of by default. But I have my duty to plug them and will include a URL should the website ever come back up (I might have to do something about that as well).

Thanks for reading–go comment on my posts!
